Yearly Presidential Proclamation of National Shame
06/02/2010 - James WhiteI noted last year that the White House under President Barack Hussein Obama had designated June as "Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Pride Month." This resulted in TurretinFan doing an entire month's worth of blog articles on the subject on his blog. Once again President Obama has added to our national shame by using the powers of his office to promote godlessness in the nation by designating June as a month of pride in sexual deviancy and sinfulness, just as he did last year. And yes, once again, Christians are offended and Christianity mocked in that the proclamation is dated replete with "the year of our Lord." Jesus is not your Lord when you spitefully reject His own law.
But I noticed one significant change in the wording of the proclamation. In 2009 it read, "I call upon the people of the United States to turn back discrimination and prejudice everywhere it exists." But the 2010 proclamation reads, "I call upon all Americans to observe this month by fighting prejudice and discrimination in their own lives and everywhere it exists."
Mr. President, I will not observe a month of pride in that which is fundamentally, unalterably, and unquestionably anti-Christian, ungodly, and life-destroying. And I am deeply offended that you would promote a worldview that identifies as "prejudice and discrimination" the settled Christian conviction that God not only has the right to determine the proper bounds of human sexual expression (being our Creator), but that He has likewise made known, with clarity, His will on the matter.
How this can be construed as anything less than anti-Christian rhetoric being written under the seal of the President of the United States, I do not know. But one thing is for certain: any culture that knowingly promotes and revels in the ungodliness of homosexuality will, inevitably and without question, outside of national repentance and confession, experience the wrath of God. There is no way to hold the Scriptures in one's hand, profess loyalty to them, and belief in their inspiration, and yet come to any other conclusion than this.
