Dealt with a number of articles on the program today from a stack of articles I had thrown into Evernote, including dealing with the decline in religious freedom, the Pope and indulgences, Muslim nations banning Christmas—even a few words on Piper’s controversial article about Christians and self-defense. Wrapping up our home stand before I head out next week with a pretty high energy program running through topics brought up on social media. We looked at how Francis is going to update his 2015 encyclical on the environment soon and asked, “If he can’t see the scam of climate change, how can he have much insight at all?”
Tom Nettles’ classic work, subtitled A Historical, Theological, and Practical Study of the Doctrines of Grace in Baptist Life, from Founder’s Press, is currently being offered by SGCB for less than $20 until mid-February. If you don’t have this in your library, you’ll want to pick it up. Great resource, important citations.
Started off with stories about California and Michigan pressing the woke gender ideology that is a plague upon us all. Then, finally, as promised almost two weeks ago, I got to Leighton Flowers and his “Calvinists cannot answer Colossians 2:12” argument and discovered that in fact it seems it is the Provisionists who have to struggle with that particular text.
