Started off the program with an interview with Dr. Joseph Pipa of Greenville Presbyterian Seminary, and followed this with the beginning of an examination of the anti-Trinitarian claims of Anthony Buzzard.
Spent the first half hour with a few post-election thoughts, meandering around the landscape, and then played two new “ecclesiastical text” videos and responded to them—as much as I could, given they don’t actually make sufficiently clear claims so as to be able to interact with them. Started off noting that Elmer Towns says Ergun Caner’s “punishment” fits the “problem,” then took three calls, one from Estonia relevant to Islam, one on King James Onlyism, one on the nature of hell. All three were very encouraging calls.
Pope Francis certainly gave us plenty to talk about and so we did, but connecting the current controversy to a wider reality about his beliefs. We then looked at Tim Staples trying to deal with the Roman Catholic view of Islam as found in Lumen Gentium 16, so if you are dealing with Roman Catholicism, this show should be helpful.
I drove from Denver to Santa Fe today, set up my unit and jumped on line to address the great dispute that erupted over the weekend. I hope that my comments will clarify, enlighten, bless and challenge.
Spent nearly an hour and 20 minutes listening to and interacting with the discussion between Jonathan Merritt and Andy Stanley at the beginning of the program. Dr. Albert Mohler spent a solid ten minutes on the same exchange on this morning’s edition of The Briefing (recommended). Then we moved over to playing some clips from a YouTube channel called 3Mormons,
